Course lecturers: Earth Sciences Department researchers involved in the group of Computational Earth Sciences, Atmospheric Composition, Climate Prediction and Earth System Services.

Objectives: To gain an understanding of what research is conducted in the Eearth Ssciences department towards integrating climate models and methods into one's own work. Towards developing cross-group/interdisciplinary collaborations.

Learning outcomes: TBC

Level: (All courses are designed for specialists with at least 1st cycle degree or similar background experience)

Target Group: Academic and technical scientists who work in or together with the Earth Sciences Department at BSC, especially newcomers, or would like to work at BSC, especially potential PhD-students, final year students, prospective collaborators/partners.

Prerequisites:

At least a University degree in progress in Earth Sciences, Computer Sciences or a related area
Basic knowledge of UNIX.
Knowledge of C, FORTRAN, MPI or openMP is recommended.
Knowledge of Earth Sciences data formats is recommended (grib, netcdf, hdf,…).

Knowledge of R and Python
