[IN PERSON EVENT] Supercomputing for AI @ENCCS, AI Stockholm, Hyperight

Europe/Stockholm

Description

About this workshop

During the Supercomputing for AI workshop, you will learn how to leverage supercomputers for AI applications. We start with a general background to the EuroHPC ecosystem. Then an overview of ENCCS services, and some inspirational success stories from Swedish companies. This will be followed by a hands-on session where everyone gets to experience and learn how HPC works, first the traditional way (ssh login, setting up a software environment, submitting batch jobs to the scheduler) and then the modern way using the ColonyOS meta-operating system. We round off with a plenary discussion to ask questions, share experiences and discuss the pros and cons of HPC compared to other computing environments.

Who is this workshop for?

Supercomputing for AI is for AI developers, but also managers and entrepreneurs. Anyone who wants to scale up their AI models by using supercomputers. No supercomputing experience is required.

What is supercomputing?

Supercomputing, also known as high-performance computing (HPC), is about performing complex calculations at extremely high speeds on large and massively parallel computers. Supercomputers consist of high-end multicore CPUs and cutting-edge GPUs. They are designed to process vast amounts of data and run large-scale simulations in academic research. They are also heavily used in industrial R&D projects.
