The VI-HPS Tuning Workshop is an opportunity for HPC application developers and users to deploy, test, port and optimize their codes on cutting-edge platforms provided by The Centre of Excellence on Performance Optimization and Productivity 3 (POP3). This workshop is a hands-on event designed to help users improve their applications with the support of world-class mentors.
Participants will gain access to Europe’s newest pre-exascale supercomputer, MareNostrum 5, including both general-purpose and accelerated computing resources. This course is ideal for those looking to:
-
Tune and scale up HPC applications
-
Explore performance optimisation opportunities on cutting-edge CPU/GPU hardware
-
Analyse execution behaviour using platform-independent open-source performance tools Paraver/Extrae, Scalasca/Score-P & MAQAO
-
Effectively leverage programming models like MPI, OpenMP, OpenACC, CUDA and HIP
Participants in this course will receive help based on their needs, including programming models, tools, hardware platforms, and dev-ops. Experts from POP3 will be available to provide guidance throughout the hackathon. You can participate in a team of up to 3 people (or exceptionally as an individual).
To foster a productive, collaborative atmosphere, at least one member of each team must attend the workshop in person.
All you need is an existing HPC application and a readiness to optimize!
Organized by CASTIEL 2 and POP 3 CoE
