The Partnership for Advanced Computing in Europe (PRACE) is pleased to announce the Summer School on Enabling Applications on Parallel Architectures based on Intel® Many Integrated Core (MIC), organized by CINECA in Casalecchio di Reno (Bologna), Italy.
This four day intensive event will focus on programming and optimisation techniques for modern parallel systems based on Intel MIC architecture. The school covers key topics such as the Intel MIC Architecture, multi- and many-core programming techniques, the Intel programming environment Intel scientific libraries, SIMD/vectorization and code optimization. Experiences on porting applications on MIC architectures will also be presented
Hands-on sessions on the CINECA EURORA prototype will allow the participants to consolidate the topics and test their own codes. The EURORA prototype is a hybrid cluster composed of 64 Intel Sandy Bridge dual socket nodes (1024 cores in total), equipped with 64 MIC processors and 64 NVIDIA K20 accelerators.
