EuroHPC Summit Week 2020 and the coronavirus (COVID-19)

As the health and well-being of everyone involved in the EuroHPC Summit Week 2020 is of the utmost importance to us, we have been keeping a close eye on the situation and regularly consulting the official guidelines of the European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control, the World Health Organisation, and the Portuguese government. Considering the current situation with many organisations putting travel bans in place, and local and national governments ordering quarantine perimeters around clusters of infections, we have come to the conclusion that continuing the conference is untenable and have therefore decided to cancel the event.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused, these are exceptional and regrettable circumstances and we do hope for your understanding.

Frequently Asked Questions
Will you reimburse me for my travel and accommodation costs and/or cancellation fees now that the conference has been cancelled?
No, we cannot provide coverage for travel costs or cancellation fees. In our Terms & Conditions, which you accepted upon registration, we ask all participants to take out adequate insurance for their attendance to the event.
- If you are a student who was selected for the PRACEdays20 Hands-on Workshops, you will receive a separate communication with further information on your bursary.
Will you refund the conference fee?
Registration for the EHPCSW 2020 was free of charge, so there are no conference fees to be refunded.
When and where will the EHPCSW 2021 take place?
We can already tell you that EHPCSW 2021 will take place in Porto, Portugal, in March next year - stay tuned for more details to come!
My contribution was selected for a PRACEdays20 parallel track. Will it be automatically accepted for the event in 2021?
We will retain all selected contributions, and will confirm with each presenter their willingness and availability to present at next year's event.
My poster was selected for a PRACEdays20 Poster Session. Will it be automatically accepted for the event in 2021?
We will retain all selected posters, and will confirm with each presenter their willingness and availability to present at next year's event.
My session / workshop was selected for EHPCSW 2020. Can I hold the same session at EHPCSW 2021?
We will confirm with each session / workshop organiser if it is viable to organise the same session one year from now, or if changes are needed. The OPC will then take a decision on the content of the new conference programme.
I made my hotel booking through the EHPCSW 2020 registration platform. How do I cancel this?
If you made your booking through the registration platform, please contact OFCORES for assistance.
OFCORES booked my flight and hotel, as I had Hosted Attendee status. What do I need to do to cancel my bookings?
We will take care to directly cancel all bookings made for Hosted Attendees. We will contact you if anything from your side is needed. If you do not hear from us, you can rest assured that all is in order.
Will you make EHPCSW 2020 into a digital conference?
Some public sessions will be held digitally, and these will be announced here. For the private meetings (invitation only) co-located at EHPCSW 2020, please contact the organisers directly for more information.
